Surroundings:
The east of Mauritius is well-known and popular for its long, sandy beaches and excellent spots for swimming. Here, the island is less touristic and somewhat less developed, but more authentic than the north or west of the island. The Hindu Temple Kashinath Mandir lies around 8 km away, and is well worth a visit. Thanks to its location on the Ile aux Goyaviers, it is one of the most interesting temples on Mauritius. At high tide, the road is even covered, so the temple is known by some as the swimming temple. Besides the stunning beaches, the east coast is also known for its golf courses. Belle Mare can be reached in around 10 minutes, where you can find a golf course, as well as one of the longest beaches in Mauritius. And those who enjoy watersports can also reach diving or kitesurfing schools in just a short drive.
