Description:
Welcome to the Veranda Grand Baie Hotel and Spa! This 94-room resort is as colourful as the nearby town itself. An active holiday full of fun and games awaits, both in the lagoon and the two pools, one of which also offers a children’s pool and jacuzzi. The nearby casino is another option besides the public beaches. Windsurfing, boat tours, an aqua gym, petanque, fitness facilities, and tennis are just some of the other things you can do, besides relaxing on the resort’s own beach under palm trees with a view of the bay and sailing boats, yachts, and catamarans. There is also a library and shop, as well as the seven colours spa with massages, beauty treatments, and a Turkish bath being just some of the things on offer, all with a laid-back Creole feel to them. The name speaks for itself. Besides the bed and breakfast offering, there are two restaurants on site, the larger Le Mon Plaisir and the smaller Belle Vue. The palm bar Le Tilambic lies by the blue lagoon with cocktails until late, as well as sometimes live entertainment. The Timono Kids Club is also there for younger guests with a daily programme, allowing the adults to get some well-deserved time to themselves. This provides plenty of time to enjoy various other extras or book more activities and get to know the island a little better.
Specials:
- Take a catamaran into the lagoon and go snorkelling at Fond Blanc, organised by the hotel itself.
- The Seven Colours Spa in a Creole setting indulges with wonderful massages and hydro treatments.
- Enjoy some time alone thanks to the Kids Club, for 3 - 11 year olds.
- Sit by the lagoon and enjoy food at both restaurants and the bar, all of which sit by the water.
- Go fishing or enjoy the tropical surroundings: the hotel also offers various Mauritius experiences as extras.
Surroundings:
The open Grand Baie is a meeting point for numerous different excursions, either with car, boat, on-foot, or public transport. Take a catamaran from here to the northern islands, including the Corner of the Sea, Flat Island, Round Island, Serpent Island, and Gabriel Island - you might even meet some dolphins on the way. Here, you will find nature parks surrounded by stunning aquatic scenery. Pay a visit to the church of Cap Malheureux and you will even see these islands in the distance. Those who are looking for something a little more laid back can pay a visit to the shopping centre or shops, much of which can be reached on-foot from the hotel. Here, you can find designer labels and colourful cotton clothing and artwork. Streetfood stands provide snacks during the day, and public beaches are also available, including the main beach of the town and smaller bays such as La Cuvette, as well as swimming spots such as Pereybere and Mont Choisy.
