Internet
Most resorts, hotels, and guesthouses offer WiFi. Thanks to improvements in network coverage in recent years, there are only a few internet cafés left, with local phone networks offering affordable mobile internet.
Telephone
The communication system on Mauritius is well-developed. You can usually get mobile signal all across the island, with providers Orange and Emtel offering pre-paid SIM cards for you to use during your stay. The international dialling code for Mauritius is +230.
Electricity
Mauritius operates on a 220 - 240 Volt AC system, and you will need type C (European 2-pin) and type G (British 3-pin) adaptors for your appliances. Many hotels can also provide you with the appropriate adaptors, but we recommend bringing your own anyway.
