Language
The language of Mauritius for official communication is English. Besides English, French is very widely-spoken.
The day-to-day language of the locals is Creole. Creole is a mixture of many languages, and sounds similar to French. Mauritians generally all speak English, so you should not have any problems communicating during your stay.
